St George Illawarra Dragons fullback Josh Dugan has hyperextended his left elbow but not suffered structural damage after having scans on Friday.

Furthermore, the Australia international’s elbow also has lots of fluid in the joint which is causing pain and limited range of motion.

Dugan suffered the injury during the 34-24 loss to the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on Thursday.

“Josh underwent scans which have confirmed he has hyperextended his elbow,” said Head of Medical and Performance Tony Ayoub.

“There is presently lots of fluid in the joint causing pain and limited range as well as a minor strain to the medial flexor tendon.

“Fortunately, there is no structural damage and his elbow should settle down within the next week.”
