St George Illawarra Dragons fullback Josh Dugan admits nothing compares to representing your country ahead of Australia clashing with New Zealand at Hunter Stadium, Newcastle on Friday.
The NSW Blues representative has been named in the centres for the annual fixture and is part of an overall 19-man squad named by Head Coach Mal Meninga.
Dugan admits he is more than familiar with the duties that stem from being named in the three-quarters position having trained for the role with the Red-and-Whites during the pre-season.
“It’s always exciting to be selected to represent your country and there’s no better feeling,” said Dugan.
“I trained all pre-season in the centres and I feel comfortable in both spots.
“Darius Boyd has been playing some great footy behind some great players up in Brisbane and he got the nod there but I’m just happy to be in the side.
“I am really looking forward to playing in the centres and excited.
“The team is very well balanced and you just need to look at that backline to see it’s a dangerous one.
“There’s a lot of experience within the forward-pack which also helps myself learn from the older boys.”
