St George Illawarra Dragons prop Leeson Ah Mau is ready for a special week after being named in the Toa Samoa team to face Mate Ma'a Tonga at Pirtek Stadium, Parramatta on Saturday.

The Dragons 2015 Player of the Year has represented his nation of heritage on eight occasions to date and is aware of the great historic rivalry between both nations involved.

Ah Mau is keen link-up with his teammates and both share and trade stories with his teammates.

“It’s always an honour to be named in this team and putting on that jersey so I am really looking forward to the week ahead,” said Ah Mau.

“We all get together and obviously we train but given it is a short week we don’t do too much as we are all match conditioned.

“The best part about it though is just learning about our culture and sharing stories.

“There is a big history between both nations competing which is why this game is big but it is all in good fun.

“The game itself is always very popular amongst the fans and that’s what the players are excited for.”
