The Illawarra Steelers SG Ball (U18) team will face the South Sydney Rabbitohs in their Finals Series Week 3 fixture at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday (11.30am).

The Steelers finished the SG Ball competition in second place and enter the encounter following a Finals Week 1 26-22 win over the Penrith Panthers to earn the right to enjiy a Bye last round.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs finished the competition rounds in fourth place and were narrowly defeated by the Newcastle Knights in their Finals Week 1 match.

However, they defeated the Parramatta Eels 24-8 in their Finals Week 2 match to qualify to face the Steelers.

“Souths will be a tough side to beat," said Coach Shane Millard.

"They’ll be fit and willing and they have a good forward pack.

"They narrowly lost to Minor Premiers Newcastle, then convincingly beat Parramatta, so they can play some footy.

“That said, all we’ve worried about all year is what we can control, not our opposition.

"If we get a good start and control the footy I’m confident we’ll give a good account of ourselves on Saturday."
