Head Coach Mat Head had made several changes to the line-up previously announced midweek with prop Jacob Esau elevated to the starting forward-pack in lieu of TJ Uele who reverted to the interchange.

Additionally, utility Alex Ta’ale was named as replacement for teammate Stuart Mason and also started on the bench.

The Young Dragons entered the fixture having been on the tail-end of a 38-18 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys last round but were quickest off the block this time around with four unanswered tries by the midway point of play.

Dragons winger Donte Efaraimo had been the first to cross the stripe in the seventh minute of play after a clever shift left had created space for the overlap before Garrick followed suit with his efforts five minutes later.

Dragons centre Patrick Herbert continued proceedings with his four-pointer in the 18th minute before Dufty completed the smash-and-grab three minutes before the interval after catching his markers napping 20 metres out.

Fellow Dragons centre Paora Kemp converted two goals from his four attempts to make it 20-0.

The visitors managed to continue where they had left-off when play resumed with an additional three tries scored before the hourmark.

Dragons prop Luciano Leilua barged his way over the white paint, carrying four defenders in the process, in the 44th minute to continue the one-sided game before the acrobatic prowess of Garrick three minutes later earnt the flanker his second of the content..

Dufty later exposed the home side’s defence after receiving a deft inside ball by Leiulu to once score in the 54th minute.

Kemp converted on this attempt from the tee to make it 34-0.

However, any attempts of recording clean sheet against their hosts were soon thwarted when Broncos winger David Fauid scored a long-range try after the hour mark.

Broncos five-eighth Haydyn O’Hara converted to make it 34-6.

Fortunately, the blip had not deterred five-eighth Jai Field, who staged a smart 80 metre intercept to slide his way across the line in the 69th minute.

The home side managed a final consolatory try through the efforts of XXX O’Hara under the posts four minutes from time.

The O’Hara converted his own try to make it 38-12.

Brisbane Broncos 12. Tries: Fauid, O’Hara. Goals: O’Hara (2/2).
