The St George Illawarra Dragons proudly hosted some very special guests at the Annual Kids Big Day Out at the Footy recently.
The Club welcomed 185 guests whom all enjoyed a party style atmosphere which was made even more special with a visit from Dragons Ambassador Wendell Sailor, halfback Benji Marshall, centre Dylan Farrell, members of the National Youth Competition team and of course Spiderman and the Easter Bunny!
This special day to remember took place prior to the Round 4 fixture against the Penrith Panthers at WIN Stadium, Wollongong thanks to our community associations with Aspect Illawarra, Para Meadows, The Disability Trust and Lifestyle Solutions.
“The Dragon's Kids Day was great, from the friendly greeting on arrival to the helpful hostess and food attendants,” said Ian Patmore, whose child Kip was in attendance.
“The kids loved the face painting and meeting the players throughout the afternoon.
“The players were very kind and attentive to the children and always ready for that "special" photo and they are great ambassadors for the Club.”
These sentiments were shared by fellow parent Kate Schultz, mother of Max.
“Thanks very much for the day at WIN Stadium watching the Dragons play on Sunday,” said Schultz.
“Max and the rest of the family really enjoyed it as it was a great experience to meet some legends including Benji Marshal and Dylan Farrell who were all very generous with their time.
“Max also enjoyed the face painting, food, the kids’ characters and pretty much the whole day.
“Thanks again to The Disability Trust and the Dragons.”
