The St George Illawarra Dragons will host the Penrith Panthers at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Sunday (kick-off 4.00pm).

Head Coach Paul McGregor has named a 17-man team for the Easter Sunday fixture which sees utility Josh McCrone named as halfback and partnering co-captain Gareth Widdop in the halves.

The NSW Country Origin representative retains his position in lieu of Benji Marshall (hamstring) who will remain being monitored by Club Medical Staff ahead of the game.

Furthermore, Jack de Belin has been named as lock-forward with teammate Mike Cooper reverting to the interchange alongside co-captain Ben Creagh, second-rower Will Matthews and hooker Siliva Havili.

The Penrith Panthers have named an 18-man squad for the fixture which sees former Dragons Trent Merrin named as lock-forward.

The NSW Blues Origin representative has seemingly overcome his reported dose of glandular fever and will line-up alongside five-eighth Te Maire Martin.

Key Match-Up

Dragons lock Jack de Belin will square-off against his former teammate Trent Merrin during the scrummage of the Easter Sunday showdown.

De Belin has made 109 tackles and run 341 metres from his three outings on the field thus far this season which has included two stints starting from the interchange.

By comparison, former teammate Merrin has made only 50 tackles from 315 metres and will no doubt be trying to improve his averages.

History

The Dragons were 19-12 victors over their upcoming opponents the last time the two teams met at WIN Stadium, Wollongong in Round 24, 2015.

The Dragons will be hosting a triple-header of rugby league to celebrate their return to WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Sunday!

The Illawarra Cutters will be the first team in action when they face the Penrith Panthers in the NSW Cup at 12.00pm!

The Young Dragons will follow-suit when they square-off against the Panthers in the National Youth Competition at 1.45pm.

The Dragons first-grade team, led by co-captain Gareth Widdop, will round-out the triple-act when the face the Panthers at 4.00pm!

The Dragons will be also hosting several family-friendly events as part of Easter Sunday, including a jumping castle, face painting, a petting zoo, an Easter egg give away and, of course, a visit by the Easter Bunny too!
