The St George Illawarra Dragons Junior Representative teams will clash in the inter-club derby at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Saturday.

The St George Dragons respective Harold Matthews Cup (U16) and SG Ball (U18) teams will host their counterparts from the Illawarra Steelers in what will be a great opportunity for all Red V Members and fans alike to see the playing future of the Club.

Gates are open from 8.00am with entry only $5.00 for adults and children (16 or under) free!

The St George Dragons Harold Matthew Cup team are coming off an 8-24 first round loss to the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs whilst the Illawarra Steelers defeated the North Sydney Bears 32-8 in their corresponding match.

“We started really slowly against the Bulldogs and that hurt us,” said Dragons Coach Graeme Wynn.

“We had a few opportunities to score in that first half and didn't take them.

“This week I'm really looking for a more disciplined effort where we don't needlessly give away penalties.

“It will be very tough as Illawarra are a very good side, however we’re only one point from eighth place!"

The St George Dragons SG Ball Cup team are coming off an 12-28 defeat to the Bulldogs while the Steelers comprehensively beat the Bears.

“We are hell bent in continuing on from our win over Norths last Saturday with another victory over the bigger, very capable St George boys.”

The Harold Matthews Cup clash takes place at 9.30am whilst the SG Ball fixture takes place afterwards at 11.00am.
