St George Illawarra Dragons utility Kurt Mann is glad to have overcome the rigours of his first pre-season with the Club.

The Winton Devils junior joined the Red-and-Whites during the off-season alongside a number of players and is keen to take to the field during the upcoming trial games alongside his new teammates.

Mann is additionally hopeful of making the fullback position his own come the start of the new campaign but knows that opportunity is dependent on where teammate Josh Dugan ultimately lines-up.

“I’m confident of playing fullback if that’s what happens as it’s the position I played growing-up and I know the role well,” said Mann.

“I’m comfortable in training and Mary really makes it a point for all of us to know our roles as each of us plays a crucial part no matter what we’re doing.

“It’s been a really tough and brutal pre-season which has seen us work on a number of things including our fitness and contact.

“It’s now time for us to now get out there and play some footy.

Mann Named In NRL Nines Squad!

“There has been a number of changes here at the club including myself but all of us have adapted to the way the Dragons play and we’re enjoying that style of footy.

“I’m happy to have been named in the Nines squad as it’s a fun weekend which allows us to play a different style of footy – a fast-paced hustle-bustle type of game.”
