St George Illawarra Dragons lifelong fan John Hines recently walked from Newcastle to Wollongong in honour of his sister Nola and he caught up with one of his favourite players, Shaun Timmins to share his story.

In September Hines took one week to walk over 200km to raise awareness and funds for the Fight Cancer Foundation in memory of his sister Nola who sadly passed away from breast cancer in 2010.

Making the feat even more remarkable is the fact that he suffers from Becker’s muscular dystrophy, which sees a progressive weakening of the muscles in the legs and pelvis.

After completing his walk, Timmins personally invited John to come to the Dragons Preliminary Final match against the Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium which is where Dragons TV caught up with John and Shaun to hear the story first-hand.
