The St George Illawarra Dragons will be holding invitation-only trials for their respective Illawarra Steelers Harold Matthews Cup (U16) and SG Ball Cup (U18) squads at Ron Costello Oval, Shellharbour on Saturday.
From these trials approximately 30 players will be selected into the Steelers respective train-on squads for the 2016 Harold Matthews Cup and SG Ball Cup teams.
Registration for the event will begin at 8.15am with the Harold Matthews Cup trials to take place at 9.00am, followed by the SG Ball Cup trials at 11.00am.
The invitation-only status of the event ensures that each player has a chance to impress the selectors in their preferred playing positions.
Many local Illawarra and Group 7 players have received an invitation to these trials in an attempt to continue the tradition of players representing their local area in their local team.
