St George Illawarra Dragons Junior Representatives Reuben Garrick and Kye Madden have both been named in the Australian Schoolboys team to take on New Zealand in a two-game Test series in September and October.

Garrick is a local Gerringong junior who made his debut for the Dragons National Youth Competition team this season following his graduation from the Illawarra Steelers SG Ball team.

Furthermore, Madden is likewise a graduate of the Steelers SG Ball team will join the Young Dragons in the pre-season.

NRL General Manager League Integration and Game Development Andrew Hill said the ASSRL was a vital breeding ground for the game.

“It’s an honour to play for your country and I’m sure they will be wearing the Australian jersey with pride, passion and integrity.”
 
The Australia Schoolboys will host their Kiwi counterparts at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Sunday (11.55am) before doing likewise at Kougari Oval, Brisbane on Thursday (6.30pm).
