The St George Illawarra Dragons completed trials for their respective St George Dragons Junior Representative teams at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Saturday.

A contingent of hopeful players attended the tryouts to secure a place in either the Dragons Harold Matthews Cup (U16) or SG Ball Cup (U18) teams under the watchful eye of Club officials.

Six Harold Matthews Cup and eight SG Ball Cup teams were given an uninterrupted period of time showcase their talents, and the commitment and energy shown by all trialists was very impressive.

Dragons officials will have some difficult decisions to make in the next fortnight before train-on squads for both age groups are announced.

“Whilst the footy was of a high standard, an equally pleasing aspect of the day from a Dragons perspective was the huge number of family members and friends who turned out to support the trialists in their endeavours to develop both their football skills and their general lifestyle, a trait highly treasured by everyone who is a part of the Dragons family,” said Dragons Junior Representative Manager Neil Lovett.

All trialists will be notified within a fortnight of their success, or otherwise, for inclusion in their respective train-on squad.
