The St George Illawarra Dragons will host Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on Saturday (5.30pm).

The Red-and-Whites will be aiming to secure the two competition points required to solidify their place in the Finals Series without having to rely on external results elsewhere.

While Head Coach Paul McGregor will be saddened dropping two of their last three games, he will be pleased with his sides attack, scoring 22.6 points per game in their last five matches.

Despite the Tigers position on the competition table, they still have a lot to play for, with a win possibly sending them as high as 11th following their mammoth 50-16 victory over the New Zealand Warriors last round.

The Tigers have really started to turn their season around over the last month and a half, winning three of their last five, scoring an impressive 28.0 points per game.

Team Changes

McGregor has named utility Jake Marketo in the second-row to partner Tyson Frizell in place of the injured Joel Thompson (hamstring), while Eto Nabuli comes onto the wing for Dylan Farrell (back).

Dragons prop George Rose is poised to make his 150th first-grade appearance after being named on an extended six-man interchange which also includes hooker Craig Garvey and winger Justin Hunt.

There is only one change for the Tigers, with Kyle Lovett bering named on an extended five-man bench.

History

There isn’t much splitting the teams apart, with the Dragons winning 16 of the 30 meetings between the two clubs.
