St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team fullback Matt Dufty remains positive ahead of the clash against the Penrith Panthers at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Thursday.

The Young Dragons will be aiming to regain some momentum to finish their season on a high note following the high-scoring 34-22 loss to the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane last round.

The local Penhurst RSL junior admits that the team played with pride in the defeat and are hoping to finish out the season with some positive displays in the closing chapters of the season.

"It was a great moment for a lot of the players to have the opportunity to play on such a large venue like Suncorp Stadium, said Dufty.

"Unfortunately, it was not the result that we wanted but I know that the players all played with pride which is something we will continue to do this round.

"We are playing on our home turf and have put in a good week of training to prepare for what will be another tough match against the Panthers who are near the top of the table.

"We intend to continue playing to the best of our ability and hopefully build a platform to end the season with some positive results, which starts on Thursday."
