St George Illawarra Dragons winger Jason Nightingale has suffered a syndesmosis sprain and will miss the fixture against the New Zealand Warriors at Westpac Stadium, Wellington on Saturday.

The New Zealand international suffered the injury during the 46-24 win over the Newcastle Knights at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Sunday.

Nightingale will be further assessed over the coming days to determine the extent of the injury.

“Jason has undertaken an MRI scan and the results support the initial diagnosis of an ankle syndesmosis sprain sustained during the win over the Knights on Sunday,” said Dragons High Performance Manager Mark Andrews.

“As a result, he will be unavailable for selection this week as he continues to be assessed over the next several days.”
