St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team prop Jack Kavanagh is expecting nothing less than a tough challenge against the Parramatta Eels at Pirtek Stadium, Parramatta on Saturday.

The Young Dragons remain planted near the bottom of the competition table but managed to notch their third win of the season following their comprehensive 34-12 win over the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium, Moore Park on Monday.

Kavanagh, a former graduate of the Red-and-Whites’ external High Performance Unit program, admits that it is now up to he and his teammates to build off the win if they are to make a solid push to the finals.

“I felt we all played very well on the field in what was a good win for the team,” said Kavanagh.

“The entire squad have been training hard and sticking to one another to help improve and it finally worked out for us against the Roosters.

“It has been a tough number of weeks for us with the recent slump in form which is more reason for us to build upon the win as we prepare to face the Eels.

“They’ve traditionally been a strong team so we know what to expect when we come up against them.”
