St George Dragons 2015 Presentation Evening A Great Event

The 2015 Junior Representative season officially concluded for the St George Dragons with the successful staging of their annual presentation evening at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Wednesday.

In an event that celebrated the efforts of all players and staff from the 2015 Junior Dragons Harold Matthews (U16) and SG Ball (U18s) teams, it also recognised those who excelled with four major awards being presented on the night.

The function was hosted by former Dragons captain Steve Edge with special guest and presenters including St George District Club Chairman Peter Black, St George Illawarra Dragons Chairman Warren Lockwood, NSWRL Competitions Manager Yvonne Purtell, Dragons CEO Peter Doust, Dragons Director of Recruitment and Retention Peter Mulholland, Dragons Recruitment Manager Ben Haran, former player Mark Gasnier, St George District Director Bruce Spaul, and Head Coach Gareme Wynn (Harold Matthews Cup) and Brad Liggins (SG Ball Cup).

Furthermore, sponsors Bob St Clair and Chris Books were also recognised on the night.

The 2015 Harold Matthews Cup Coach’s Award was awarded to Harris Georgopoulos whilst the 2015 Harold Matthews Cup Player of the Year was announced as Andrew Kapinga,

The 2015 SG Ball Cup Coach’s Award was awarded to David Nafahu whilst the 2015 Illawarra Steelers SG Ball Cup Player of the Year was announced as Ben Cassell,

Several speakers congratulated all players on their achievements thus far, but stressed the need for continued dedication and hard work if they are to reach their full potential in both football, and life in general.
