St George Illawarra Dragons hooker Mitch Rein was in attendance to help launch McDonald's purpose-built Create Your Taste restaurants at a VIP function in the area on Monday.
Part of a bold plan to transform how Illawarra locals experience Macca’s, purpose-built Create Your Taste restaurants are now open across the Illawarra region, including McDonald’s Fairy Meadow, Albion Park Rail, Dapto, Figtree, Wollongong, Woonona, Warilla and Warrawong.
Offering a new customisable gourmet burger menu, Macca’s is tapping into technology to enhance customer experience.
Using digital kiosks, customers can build their own burgers from scratch, choosing from up to 30 ingredients, allow guests to tailor their Macca’s experience to suit them.
The refurbished restaurants will also treat guests to table service, the chance to sit down and enjoy a drink while they wait for their creation to be made fresh off the grill and brought to their table.
To help celebrate, Dragons hooker Mitch Rein joined over 30 Wollongong locals at a VIP launch event on Monday 1 June, after a weekend win against the Sharks.
With the Dragons jumping to the top of the NRL ladder and having crossed the line to score on the weekend, Mitch enjoyed tucking into his own customisable gourmet burger at the launch event.
Wollongong locals, Dragons fans and McDonald’s Licensees Katia and Glenn Dwarte, say they are proud of the transformation as the change has been driven by local customers.
“We are always looking to change and innovate so we can continue to meet the needs of our customers,” said Katia.
“Through new technology, customer service approaches and menu options, decisions about how McDonald’s will serve Australians in the future is being placed fully in the hands of customers.”
Whether customers are after the iconic Big Mac and fast convenience McDonald’s is famous for, or a gourmet burger in a more relaxed dining environment, customers will have more options than ever before, including;
