St George Illawarra Dragons prop Leeson Ah Mau is looking to turn the tables for Toa Samoa when they face rivals Mate Ma’a Tonga in their clash at Cbus Super Stadium, Robina on Saturday.

Ah Mau, 25, is part of an 18-man squad for the Pacific Test fixture and was part of the team that were surprisingly defeated 36-4 by their island rivals at Centrebet Stadium, Penrith in 2013.

The Dragons forward, who has represented Samoa on seven occasions, is intent to vanquish that result with a good performance for his nation of heritage this time around and is ready to play his role.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to be selected for Samoa and compete in the annual Pacific Test and I’m looking forward to it,” said Ah Mau.

“It was a disappointing loss to us the last time we faced Tonga but we’ll have to see what happens this time.

“All the players will be training hard during camp this week and know they have a job to do to get one over Tonga this time around.

“These games are always heated as there is a true rivalry between the two teams but hopefully we come out of the game on top.”
