The Illawarra Cutters will be looking to bounce back when they host the Wyong Roos at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.
The match has become a must win for the Cutters after last round’s loss to the Newcastle Knights which left them with only one win from the opening five rounds.
The Cutters have once again gone with a mostly unchanged line-up featuring the experience of Kris Keating, Peter Mata’utai, Nathan Green, and Will Matthews.
“We mentioned at full time after the Knights game its pleasing that we have that football in us but it would be more beneficial if we had that football in us in the first half,” said Cutters Head Coach Scott Logan.
“We keep saying we are going to learn from the past and we are not going to start games like that but we don’t and it’s not good enough.
“I think our penalties and completions in the first half weren’t good and we came up with them at inopportune times and could not capitalize on chances.
Despite only having one win in the early stages of the competition the Cutters sit in ninth position on the ladder as they face the second place Roos with names including Yileen Gordon, Nathan Stapleton and Mitch Williams.
The Cutters game plan for this match will be the same as each week so far control the ball, minimal errors, and no penalties.
Execution is the issue the side has been having but they showed if they can put it all together they can be dangerous like in round three when they scored 50 points.
The Roos are an improved team now that they are a feeder team to the Sydney Roosters and will be a vastly different side than the one some may remember.
