St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team fullback Matt Dufty has told his teammates to remain confident heading into the match against the Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium, Newcastle on Saturday.

The Young Dragons have yet to notch a win from their first four outings this season having narrowly gone down 24-22 buy the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles last round.

Dufty, who played his first game of the campaign against the Sea Eagles, believes the team has what it takes to win but that it all comes down to belief.

“It was a tough loss but I think I went alright for my first game back from six weeks off due to injury,” said Dufty.

“I don’t think there is too much we can do to improve as the skill is there, its more so the belief that we can actually win which is what we need.

“That will come once we get those first few competition points and its up to us to do just that against the Knights.

“We had a good week at training and all the boys competed against the Sea Eagles but we came up just short.

“We have put in another solid week of training and the team is raring to get back on to the field against the Knights and show what they are truly capable of.”
