The Illawarra Cutters intend to keep momentum going when they face the Wentworthville Magpies at Ringrose Park on Sunday.

The Cutters got their season back on track following a convincing 50-12 in over the North Sydney Bears last round in a game built on limited errors and penalties which allowed their natural game to shine.

Head Coach Scott Logan has named a mostly unchanged side from last week with Drew Hutchinson (five-eighth) and Peter Mata’utia (centre) returning to the side.

“We desperately needed a win and it wasn’t about the two points but the process to get those two points and we were stronger in the areas that let us down in earlier rounds,” said Logan.

“Scoring points was never our problem, it was penalties and errors.

“We were always confident we could score points if we kept the ball and didn’t give away too many penalties.”

The Magpies will be looking towards their experienced half back Luke Kelly to steer the side and will be boosted upfront by large front rower Peni Terepo.

Both sides provide slick outside backs which build on the work of strong forward pack so it will be a back and forth battle with both sides looking to establish dominance early.

With the NSW Cup once again a close competition the both sides will be desperate for a win.
