St George Illawarra Dragons prop Leeson Ah Mau admits tightening-up the defence is key against the Canberra Raiders at GIO Stadium, Canberra on Saturday.

The Samoa international, who has started the opening two fixtures in the forward-pack, admits the leaking of points needs to stop if the team are to secure their first win of the campaign in the nation’s capital.

Personally, Ah Mau, 25, believes that the experience of new recruit George Rose has been a positive for his own game and hopes to show this on the field over the coming weeks.

“It’s been good having those experienced players around you like George Rose helping you on and off the field,” said Ah Mau.

“George has been giving me some tips on the field which I think will only improve my game.

“The season so far has been a bit disappointing basically because we haven’t had the results.

“I’ve been trying to work harder at training and work on the things that I need to work on as have the rest of the pack.

“The main thing is to try and fix our defence and get the little things right.”
