The Illawarra Cutters are looking for their first win for the season when they host the North Sydney Bears at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.
The Cutters have named a mostly unchanged team from the last two rounds, as they look to find more consistency after two inconsistent showings in the first two rounds.
The team has retained the experience of Kris Keating, Geoff Daniela, and Justin Hunt while Nathan Green also returns to the side after a minor injury sustained in the opening round of the season.
The Cutters face a young Bears side with up and comers such as Aaron Gray, and are looking to add to the one win they already have in the early stages of the competition.
The Cutters need to get back to the style of football that they played last season which is holding the ball and controlling possession.
The team has been close to winning both games so far but were let down by handling errors and penalties.
“The game was there to be won against the Sea Eagles but we just didn’t quite have the energy or execution to get it done,” said Head Coach Scott Logan.
“We had spoken at half time about giving away penalties late in the set and we had to play better field position and not give them the ball in good field position.
“Unfortunately, it was not meant to be and since then we have studied our videos on this and hopefully learn from it in time for the game at home.”
This will be the Cutters first home game of the season and the perfect setting to get their 2015 NSW Cup campaign rolling as they look to build momentum for the long season ahead.
