The St George Illawarra Dragons will field up to five Club debutants for their opening match of the new season when they host the Melbourne Storm at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Monday.

Head Coach Paul McGregor has named a 19-man squad for the opening round Emergency Services clash which will see both local Hurstville United junior prop Rory O’Brien and Fijian international winger Eto Nabuli potentially make their first-grade debuts.

Furthermore, new recruit Dane Nielsen and George Rose, both of whom have previously played for the Storm, as well as hooker Heath L’Estrange have all been named in the extended squad.

“We are excited that the new season has arrived and everyone is looking forward to start the new year in front of our home supporters at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah,” said McGregor.

“It has been a long pre-season, the squad has worked extremely hard and there has been great competition for places in this opening round.

“The Melbourne Storm are always a tough and competitive football team, it will be a great challenge, but one to which we have have all been counting down”.
