The St George Illawarra Dragons teamed-up with St.George Bank to launch a new student hub during ‘Open Week’ at the University of Wollongong on Wednesday.

Dragons duo Dan Hunt and Will Matthews were on hand throughout the event to celebrate with by handing out free selfie sticks to students and posing for selfies with cardboard celebrity cut outs.

Students also had the opportunity to win tickets to a festival anywhere in the world!

“It was fun to be amongst the students, especially considering I am a student here myself,” said Dan Hunt, who is part of the Dragons Graduates of League program.

“O-Week is an important week for students to become acquainted with what is on offer in and around the area and what the St.George Bank have done is great.

Area leader for St.George Bank, Sharon Keen says that all selfies aside, the lounge has been funded by St.George to provide students with a modern chill out space that includes plenty of seating for studying as well as meeting rooms, free WiFi and Samsung tablets available to students.

“It primarily is a state-of-art lounge for students to use, study and chill out in, but we'll also have young bankers available to assist students with money management, saving, and all their banking needs when they need it,” said Keen.
