The St George Illawarra Junior Representative sides will line up for their second games of the regular season on Saturday.

The St George Dragons Harold Matthews (U16) and SG Ball (U18) teams will face off against the North Sydney Bears at TG Milner Field, Marsfield.

This will be the second time the Dragons have faced the Bears this year, having played them in the second round of trials in late January.

On that occasion the Harold Matthews Cup team walked away with a 16-16 draw, whilst the SG Ball secured a 28-8 victory.

Dragons SG Ball Cup Coach Brad Liggins hopes his team can meet the same standards as they did in last weekend’s victory over the Western Suburbs Magpies.

“We’re hoping for the same effort in defence as last week, to back it up.

“The players know they need to fine-tune their attack and back up their defending efforts from last week.”

The Harold Matthews match will commence at 12:00pm and the SG Ball at 1:30pm.

The Illawarra Steelers Harold Matthews (U16) and SG Ball (U18) teams will face the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at WIN Stadium, Wollongong on Saturday.

After starting the season on a fairly positive note with the Harold Matthews team drawing and the SG Ball team  getting a win, both sides will be hoping to take away the two points.

The Bulldogs had more of a mixed result than their opponents this week with their Harold Matthews team getting the win against the Newcastle Knights before their SG Ball team fell to their opposite numbers up north.

Both coaches, Adam Blake and Shane Millard, have made some changes to ensure that their squad remains fresh.

With a squad of 25 and a nine round season, it allows all players to have a chance to put their name forward throughout the season.
