St George Illawarra Dragons fullback Josh Dugan has suffered a minor knee sprain after scans confirmed the injury on Monday.
The NSW Blues representative was forced to leave the field due to suffering the ailment during the 12-all draw against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the Charity Shield fixture at ANZ Stadium, Olympic Park on Saturday.
Furthermore, Dragons prop Jack de Belin is additionally expected to resume fulltime training after being sidelined with a virus over the weekend.
“Josh has undergone his MRI scans which have indicated he has a small knee sprain which will not impede him being able to travel to the UK for the World Club Series,” said Dragons NRL Physiotherapist Dan Lawson.
“We expect him to resume regular training once the travelling squad commences their preparations for the match against the Warrington Wolves later in the week.
“Jack was unable to attend training due to him feeling unwell over the weekend but we expect him to be fully fit to travel to the UK in the coming days.”
The Dragons will compete against the Warrington Wolves in the inaugural World Club Series fixture to be held at The Halliwell Jones Stadium, Warrington on Friday, February 20.
The Dragons will announce the travelling squad later on Monday.
