The St George Illawarra Dragons have announced that Dane Nielsen has agreed to terms on a two-year contract that will see him join at the Club until at least the end of 2016.
The Queensland representative centre, who can also play on the wing, was most recently contracted to the New Zealand Warriors but was granted an early release to join the Club.
“An opportunity has arisen to acquire the services of Dane who is eager to meet his new teammates and commence pre-season training,” said Head Coach Paul McGregor.
“He is a Premiership-winning centre who has played representative football for Queensland and will provide great value and experience to our squad.”
The Indigenous All-Star (2012) made his first-grade debut for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks during the 2007 campaign before joining the Melbourne Storm the following year.
Nielsen, 29, won both a World Club Challenge (2010) and NRL Premiership (2012) during his five-year tenure with the Storm before his move to the Warriors prior to the 2013 season.
Nielsen has played 109 NRL games to date and will join the Dragons for pre-season training later this week.
