St George Illawarra lock Trent Merrin scored two tries, made 28 tackle breaks and two line breaks this season.

The NSW Blues representative played in 21 games this campaign and additionally made a season total of 2,913 metres, by far the most of any Dragon.

Only twice did Merrin run for less than a 100 metres a game, against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Round 9 (54 metres with seven runs) and the Wests Tigers in Round 20 (80 metres with ten runs).

The Shellharbour Sharks junior’s work rate gave him the best season attacking average.

On average he made 15.6 runs and 138.7 metres a game.

Merrin’s defence average was one of the best of the teams, with 33.4 tackles a game, missing 1.2.

Merrin was also the leading Dragon in number of offloads, with 38 next to his name.
