The St George Illawarra Dragons are calling on everyone to proudly run, walk and roll in the annual RUN Wollongong event taking place this Sunday!
Last year’s RUN Wollongong event saw over 2,500 Wollongong locals do just that and raise $107,501 which was matched dollar-for-dollar by the Cotton On Foundation to help fund the redevelopments of the Wollongong Hospital Children’s Ward & Illawarra Shoalhaven Children’s Assessment Unit.

This amazing donation allowed works to commence in February 2014 on the first project, the redevelopment of the Illawarra Shoalhaven Children's Assessment Unit.
The Unit will house a purpose-built community paediatric clinic and specialised assessment areas in a family-friendly environment.
These fantastic upgrades will provide access to assessments, support and early intervention to local children with developmental delays or learning problems.
Shortly after this year’s RUN Wollongong event the Assessment Unit’s extension will be complete and ready to move into Phase 2 of the project, the internal fit-out of the Assessment Unit.
The new purpose-built environment at the Illawarra Shoalhaven Children’s Assessment Unit (ISCAU) will allow more families to access a wider range of paediatric services in the one location and a more streamlined service for local families.
As RUN Wollongong continues over the next few years the second project will see the Wollongong Hospital Children's Ward undergo extensive refurbishment works.
On top of the priority list is a new playroom and an ambulatory care area which includes a short-stay unit and paediatric outpatient clinic rooms.
A paediatric development group has been convened to begin planning for this.
The Cotton On Foundation is proud to partner with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and work together to provide the best future for the Wollongong and surrounding communities, and you guys should be too!
One hundred percent of your registration and every dollar donated goes straight to the cause, so your participation and support means so much.
Just by getting involved in RUN Wollongong you’re making a difference to children’s health in the Wollongong community – how great is that?!
