The St George Illawarra Dragons, in conjunction with the St.George Bank, are proud to announce the Kiama Knights U12s as the St. George Bank Little Dragons winners for August.
The Knights were nominated by one of their players 11-year-old Will Webb, who’s nomination was based on a school speech he had written about his team and what playing the game had taught him which showed great synergy with the St George Bank Little Dragon values.
Will wrote “the way to succeed in life was to follow the formula I have learnt from my footy team. Being courageous, hardworking, determined, supportive and part of a team will always equal success!”
The Knights were presented their $1,000 prize money during a presentation held prior to a recent Dragons NRL training session prior to the recent fixture against the Gold Coast Titans.
In 2014, $5,000 in funds courtesy of St George Bank ‘Little Dragons’ program has gone to five Junior League Clubs in the St George Illawarra Dragons catchment.
This is on top of another $6,000 going to three clubs from the program launch in Round 1 and $5,000 from 2013 Little Dragons Program.
The St George Bank Little Dragons program has now helped 13 clubs through its $16,000 donated to local grassroots Rugby League.
