St George Illawarra Dragons captain Ben Creagh will undergo scans to determine the extent of his ankle injury sustained during the 30-22 loss to the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Friday.

The Dragons prop was forced to depart the field 12 minutes into the fixture and will be assessed by Club medical staff ahead of the fixture against the Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium, Newcastle next Sunday.

"Ben had an ankle injury early in the first half and was assessed by the medical staff," said Dragons Performance Director Andrew Gray.

"We tried to get him going to return to the field for the second-half but to no avail.

"We will now follow this up with him getting some scans as soon as possible and will remain under observation leading into next weekend's game against the Newcastle Knights."
