St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team co-Head Coach Ben Hornby is pleased with the team’s momentum heading into the match against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Friday.
Hornby was pleased to see his charges gain a further two competition points following their comprehensive 42-16 win over the Gold Coast Titans last round but more so for the team effort on display.
The Young Dragons have now banked two wins on the trot but Hornby is not losing focus with the short turnaround ahead of the trip north of the state line.

“We are always happy when we win that’s natural but more importantly the way we played was what I was really pleased with,” said Hornby.
“Across the board, everyone contributed and everyone played their role against the Titans and I couldn’t really single one player out but I think as a whole everyone contributed.
“I believe you need to win more than two on the trot to really be coming into form but it has definitely been a pleasing couple of weeks putting a few scores on.
“The next few weeks we’ve got some really tough sides so we’ll get a better gauge of where we’re at I suppose.
“This week we have being doing a fair bit of recovery with a little bit of work on the field to travel up there in the best shape we can.
“It’s obviously not ideal going from a Sunday game to a Friday night in Brisbane, flying the day of the game, but we’ll go up there and give them what we’ve got.”
