St George Illawarra Dragons lock Trent Merrin believes the team’s unity will prevail over the Gold Coast Titans at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Sunday.
The NSW Blues representative is pleased with the unity demonstrated by the entire squad and trusts each teammate to play their role as they focus in on trying to secure a late Finals berth.
The Shellharbour Sharks junior admits he relishes the personal opportunities to test himself against some of the best opposition in the game as it provides a sounding board for his own on-field progress.

“I think every game from here on in is a must win and like we did against Canberra, we just need to buy in to what we can offer and what we can do to win,” said Merrin.
“It’s definitely going to be a tough one but it’ll be great to be at home playing at Jubilee Oval and hopefully we can get the job done.
“You want to go out there wanting to win every game that’s a non-negotiable and they’ll be coming out there firing with their key players and they’ll be wanting to do a job on us.
“We’ve all been doing our homework this week on them and concentrating on what we can do for one another on the field.
“It’s always good to test yourself against the best and to come up against two great middle players in Greg Bird and Nate Myles will help me see where I’m at.
“As a collective group everyone is up for the task which means I don’t have to overdo myself pushing myself with the minutes.
“Everyone is testing each other and that’s how we want it to be.”
