St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team five-eighth Shannon Crook has discouraged the prospect of another slow start against the Gold Coast Titans at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Sunday.

The Young Dragons left the nation’s capital last round with a win but left it until very late following a slow-start which has been the norm for the outfit in recent weeks.

The Narellan Jets junior has implored his teammates to expunge this trend from their game and is hoping it occurs against their interstate opposition.

“It was a very slow starting game and very disappointing and to be honest the past three weeks have been very similar which is not ideal,” said Crook.

“Luckily we made up for that with a win and two more competition points which we need.

“I am very lucky to have some good teammates on my edge such as Euan, Sitiveni and Jack and we encourage one another to continue talking and communicating throughout the game.

“It’ll be good to return home and play after a long trip last weekend and hopefully we can do the job against the Gold Coast Titans.”
