St George Illawarra Dragons players participate in a weekly program at the Myimbarr Learning centre to help Indigenous children with their schoolwork.

The Sterlo Show and FOX Sports stop in at the Myimbarr Learning Centre to chat to the players and children, as part of the NRL Close the Gap round.

Dragons forward Joel Thompson is heavily involved in the Community Education Program and is pleased that NRL players are mentoring young kids to help build their futures.

“I come from a small Aboriginal Community and we used to just kick the footy around or hang out on the streets.

“Its important to have programs like this, we try to help educate the kids and be a positive role model for them and help build their future."
