St George Illawarra Dragons duo Tyson Frizell and Gerard Beale were both in attendance at the Primary School Sports Association rugby league competition at Carss Park on Friday.

The Dragons pair were on hand at the event, which saw an improved total of six public primary schools compete.

The elite players were well-received by students and staff alike, offering their knowledge to aspiring young footballers.

Botany Bay PSSA, which sits within the Sydney East School Sports Association, had until last year put a 15-year halt to its rugby league competition, but with the assistance of Dragons and NRL Development staff the event has been resurrected and continues to grow.

The success follows the NSW PSSA’s 125-year anniversary, which was celebrated in 2013.

The association has had a lasting legacy and continues to provide primary school students with opportunities to learn new skills in a fun and safe environment, while engaging with children from different schools.
