St George Illawarra Dragons lock Trent Merrin will be sidelined for the next fortnight as he overcomes a shoulder injury sustained while on representative duty with the NSW Blues.

The NSW representative sustained the ailment during the third State of Origin fixture and has since had scans to confirm the extent of the injury.

“Trent is working hard on his rehabilitation program and we expect that he will be fit for selection in Round 21-22 at this stage,” said Dragons Performance Director Andrew Gray.

Merrin is expected to be available for the round 21 fixture against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium, Moore Park on Saturday, August 2.
