The St George Illawarra Dragons and NRL proudly travelled to further develop the game of rugby league in Samoa in recent weeks.
The Dragons, in conjuntion with representatives from the NRL, spent three days identifying and assessing more than 160 prospective athletes across a number of physical testing simulations while additionally promoting key messages about the game across the Island nation.
The outcome of the visit was to provide Samoan players a pathway in a tested system to potentially reach the NRL from the Pacific region and to provide education through the sucessful 'Tackle Bullying' and 'Dream Believe Achieve' programs.
The Dragons identified duo Albert Viali and Gordon Lemisio as standout performers throughout all the activities with each player to be invited to visit the Club at a later date.
