The Illawarra Cutters defeated the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles 46-12 at Brookvale Oval, Brookvale on Saturday.

In terrible windy conditions, the Cutters were able to adjust to the conditions the best despite struggling with their goal kicking.

It only took five minutes for Illawarra to get on the board as a cross field kick was spilled from a Manly defender which saw Tyrone Cranston pick up the ball and score.

Not long later, late inclusion Geoff Daniela found the try line as Kyle Eather made a half-break before offloading to put Daniela over.

In the 19th minute, Cranston had his second of the game as the away side put the ball through the hands to see the winger score in the corner.

Four minutes later, Cranston had his hat-trick as an almost repeat of the previous try saw the Cutters extend their lead.

The tries were coming in bunches for Illawarra as in the 26th minute, Daniela again scored as he stepped inside his defender and powered his way over.

Nathan Green got his first try for the game close to the half hour mark as he found space and scored out wide.

From the kick-off, Manly forced an error and from the resulting scrum fullback Clinton Gutherson made his way over the white line for the home sides first try.

Gutherson converted his own try to reduce the Cutters lead to 24-6.

Just before half-time, Manly enjoyed more possession and made good use of it as interchange forward Epalahame Lauaki used his strength to score next to the posts.

Gutherson made no mistake and gave the home side some hope at 24-12 heading into the interval.

After the half-time break, both sides aimed to assert their dominance and it was Illawarra who was able to do that as second-rower Willie Mataka.

Sam Duggan converted his first try for the game as the Cutters extended their lead to 30-12.

In the 57th minute, Green scored his second try of the game through an offload from Drew Hutchison 10-metres out.

Five minutes later, Kiti Glymin got his first try of the game as another try was scored in the corner, making it difficult for goalkicker Duggan.

In the 74th minute, Green became the second player to get a hat-trick as a sweeping move saw him score out wide.

With the last play of the game, Cranston capped off his afternoon with his fourth try of the game from a set play.
