The Illawarra Cutters have confirmed the appointment of current Assistant Coach Scott Logan to the role of Head Coach for the remainder of the 2014 season.

This appointment is in response to previous Head Coach Ian Millward’s increased role with the St George Illawarra Dragons NRL team.

Illawarra Cutters Chairman Sean O’Connor confirmed the changes and praised Millward for his work in moulding the young Cutter’s team into a contender for the premiership in just a few months.

“The Illawarra Cutters have confirmed that Scott Logan has now assumed the role of Head Coach and we have every confidence that Scott can continue the success that Ian Millward has presided over to date in 2014," said O'Connor.

“Ian has been magnificent in developing the young talent in the Cutters ranks, which is typified by Shane Pumipi being rewarded with a fulltime training contract with the St George Illawarra Dragons NRL squad.

"Scott inherits a squad that is setting high standards this season, and his wealth of experience as a player in the NRL and his previous coaching success in the Illawarra Coal League should serve him well in the role."
