The Illawarra Cutters will host the Penrith Panthers at Collegians Sports Complex, Figtree on Saturday.

Both teams will be competing against one another for the first time this season and will be looking to get the upper hand early to grind out the victory.

There were mixed results for the two teams with the Cutters falling to the Newtown Jets, while the Panthers were successful in their game against the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.

“We had no possession in the first half against the Jets and came up with a lot of errors,” said Head Coach Ian Millward.

“We will change a couple of things this week and go over some video footage in preparation for the Panthers.”

Illawarra will be looking to turn their form around after two defeats in a row and Michael Witt returns in the captaincy role to help them do this.

Penrith have named a young side this week but will go into the game with experienced campaigners Wes Naiqama, Kevin Naiqama and exciting Fijian Eto Nabuli.

After last week’s defeat, the Cutters slipped back to fifth position while the Panthers are performing well and are in second position going into the round 12 game.
