The Illawarra Cutters defeated the Wyong Roos 40-0 at Morry Breen Oval, Wyong on Sunday.

The Cutters displayed a convincing performance with the team crossing for seven tries, including a double to forward Jack de Belin.

The win was made even more impressive with the Cutters defence being able to prevent Wyong from scoring.

The first try for the Cutters went to Geoff Daniela with Sam Williams’s conversion giving the team an early lead.

Cutters went into half-time with a slender lead but after the break, the attack and momentum began to show.

Tries early in the second half to late inclusion Joel Thompson and Craig Garvey gave the Cutters a comfortable lead.

In the 55th minute, fullback Adam Quinlan was able score his first try of the afternoon and with 25 minutes to play, Cutters were in front by 22-0.

The next try went to half-back Kyle Eather who was fortunate to catch a charge down and streak away to score Illawarra’s fifth try for the game.

Two tries in the last five minutes from Jack de Belin sealed the impressive victory and with plenty of positive for coach Ian Millward and his team.
