Rugby League bags from the Cooks River in the North to the Clyde River in the South  are beginning to be packed with boots, head gear, mouth guards, shorts and socks in anticipation for the opening rounds of the 2014 St George, Illawarra and South Coast Junior Rugby league season commencing throughout April.

This year’s St George Illawarra three Junior leagues will once again have teams competing from 37 local clubs with 8 in St George, 14 in the Illawarra and a further 15 South Coast Clubs.

All three regions were recently been on hand to represent their Junior Clubs alongside St George Illawarra local juniors Tyson Frizell (Corrimal Cougars), Trent Merrin (Shellharbour Sharks), Brett Morris (Kiama Knights and Jason Nightingale (Renown United).

269 sides will take part each weekend with teams ranging from the Under 6 age group through to the newly formed Under 17s competition. 

If you are interested in playing rugby league registrations can still be made at you nearest club, which you can find on the www.playNRL.com website.

St George Junior Clubs: Arncliffe Scots, Brighton Seagulls, Earlwood Saints, Hurstville United, Kingsgrove Colts, Kogarah Cougars, Penshurst RSL and Renown United

Illawarra Junior Clubs: Berkeley Eagles, Collegians Collies Dogs, Corrimal Cougars, Dapto Canaries, Helensburgh Tigers, Hunltey Rhinos, Northern Suburbs Bulldogs, Port Kembla Blacks, Shellharbour Sharks, Thirroul Butchers, Wests Illawarra Devils, Windang Pelicans, Woonona Bushrangers and Wollongong Titans.

South Coast Group 7: Albion Park Oak Flats Eagles, Batemans Bay Tigers, Berry Magpies, Bomaderry Swamp Rats, Culburra Dolphins, Gerringong Lions, Jamberoo Superoos, Kiama Knights, Milton Ulladulla Bulldogs, Nowra Warriors, Shellharbour Stingrays, St Georges Basin Dragons, Sussex Inlet Panthers, Warilla Lake South Gorillas and Tullimbar Titans
