St George Illawarra Dragons National Youth Competition team second-rower Jack Bird is eager to run out in the Red-and-White for the Men of League Heritage round match against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at the Sydney Cricket Ground, on Saturday.

The young Dragons remain undefeated after the opening four rounds of the season, propelling the team to the top of the Holden Cup competition ladder.

The Berkley Eagles junior is confident the team can continue to improve on their current form.

"We've been doing well the last few weeks, the team have been working on a few different structures," said Bird.

"Ben and Dean have been great, they know the game and it's been beneficial to gain experience of what it's like to play first grade footy.

"We are undefeated but that's not to say we're perfect, we're always trying to improve on areas of our game.

"I think over the last few rounds we've learnt a lot about ourselves and our abilities.

"Last week was tough, but every game is. We just need to focus on ourselves and our game."
