The Illawarra Cutters drew 12-12 with the New Zealand Warriors at Eden Park, Auckland on Saturday.
The Cutters commanded a 12-6 lead with minutes to go only to be pegged back four minutes from time.
The visitors struck first through centre Charly Runciman 14 minutes in after finishing off some slick ball work in the wet conditions to score.
Cutters halfback Sam Duggan converted the early try to extend their lead to 6-0.
The Cutters extended their lead in the 17th minute through fullback Peter Mati’utai who used a nice dummy, and quick foot work to streak through the Warriors defence.
Duggan converted again in the boggy conditions to make it 12-0.
The Warriors struck back six minutes into the second-half through Jarred Wilson who scored from a opportunity inside the opposition’s 20 metres.
Tuimoala Lolohea converted Wilson’s try to cut the Cutters lead to 12-6.
Wilson scored in the 76th for the Warriors, and Lolohea converted from the sideline to level the store.
The Warriors took three shots at a field goal, and the final one was stopped by a clutch block by Peni Botiki.
