St George Illawarra Dragons fullback Josh Dugan will honour his promise to shave his pre-season beard as part of the World’s Greatest Shave after the Club reached its16,000 forever faithful Red V Member milestone target on Friday!
The NSW Blues representative had promised to face the clippers and raise money for the Leukemia Foundation if the Dragons reached 16,000 Red V Members with one lucky Red V Member helping with the actual shave itself.
All Red V Members who signed up to March with the Dragons in 2014 went into the draw to win the opportunity to meet Dugan as well as shave his beard and Red V Member Silvana Petrovski, a proud Red V Member since 2008, is the lucky winner after renewing her Gold Membership Package for the 2014 season!
The ‘event’ will take place on Monday, March 17 with a representative from the Leukaemia Foundation and Dragons Ambassador Wendell Sailor also in attendance.
Following the event, the Dragons and a selection of their Corporate Partners will combine together to present a donation to the Leukaemia Foundation.
“It is great news that the Club has reached such a significant membership milestone and I’m thankful to everyone who signed-up to become a Red V Member,” said Dugan.
“The World’s Greatest Shave raises a lot of money for the Leukemia Foundation to help fund important work and I am very grateful for the amount of money raised by the Dragons and their Corporate Partners that will be donated.
“I’m sure it will feel weird for a while not having my beard but it’s being shaved for a really great cause and I am happy to know that I could help out the Club specifically with membership.”
The World’s Greatest Shave is taking place between March 13-16 and the Dragons were aiming for 16,000 Members by March 16.
All Dragons Red V Members who signed up to March with the Dragons in 2014 before then went into the draw to win the opportunity to meet Josh Dugan and shave his beard with monies raised for the Leukaemia Foundation.
