The Illawarra Cutters will commence their pre-season trials against the St George Illawarra Dragons at WIN Jubilee Oval, Kogarah on Friday.
The Cutters will be joined by Group 10 outfit the Mudgee Dragons for the encounter against their first-grade opposition.
Head Coach Ian Millward believes the trial will provide his part-time players an opportunity to test themselves against high-caliber opposition and is excited by what is in store.
“We've got about over 20 players involved so that will give everyone an opportunity to take part in the game,” said Millward.
“Everyone has been training extremely hard since pre-season commenced in November and it will provide an environment for the players to test themselves against some of the best in the game.
“The game also provides the coaching staff like myself the chance to see assess the make-up of the team ahead of the new NSW Cup season.
“I’m looking for people who can follow instructions but are prepared to work for their teammates.”
